We care for your child like you would. We know that nothing matters to you more than the safety of your child. Diana and Dave have raised 4 children of their own and take special care to make sure your child’s environment is every bit a safe as you would make it. From first aid training (Dave is an Instructor) for emergency situations to sanitation and ensuring a clean and healthy environment for children. We have more that 30 years of experience ensuring every child is happy and healthy. Although scraped knees are a part of growing up, you can have confidence your child is cared for in an experienced, secure, nurturing family home every day.Our outside play area is safe and maintained on a regular basis. We have safe fall areas under our swingset and slide if your child takes a tumble and we keep our play area securely fenced.
- We assess every child’s health by talking with parents and monitoring for symptoms during the course of each child’s day. We increase assessment during flu season.
- We notify parents when a child does not feel well to help prevent an illness from spreading. We also notify you is another child is ill, anonymously of course.
- We clean and sanitize all toys and play areas multiple times each day with safe, non-toxic cleaning products.
- Cleaning supplies, tools and dangerous household items are locked safely out of reach of children.
- We encourage children to wash their hands throughout the day by singing songs and teaching lessons about health and hygiene.
- Diapering is conducted in an area separate from children’s play areas.
- We have strict policies for administering medication to your child to ensure they are protected.
- Our doors locked and secured by alarms at non pickup times. so that only authorized families may enter. We are very aware of anyone around our home and make sure all of our children are always safe.
- Safe, secure perimeters with constant and present adult supervision ensure that children can enjoy outdoor play safely.
- We use safety gates, window guards (except fire escapes) and cap electrical outlets.
- Our home includes smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, and multiple preplanned escape routes.
- Diana and Dave are both trained in child development and early-childhood education. Both are also trained in first aid and safety and attend continuing education every year.
- We train monthly for tornados, fires and lockdown situations. All of our alarm systems are are tested monthly.
- We have an emergency evacuation plan and safe pre-planned back up locations.
- All perishable food is refrigerated.
- Our menu is planned using federal food program requirements so your child eats nutritious foods.
- We welcome breastfeeding mothers, and we have careful policies for separating breast milk from formula.
- Only pre-approved people with photo identification may pick-up your child.
